FRANTISEK PERINA

Czech war hero, an excellent shot and pilot, nicknamed General of the Skies. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia he escaped to Poland and then to France, where he flew with the GC I/5 “Les Cigognes”. In three days, he managed to shoot down seven planes. He was wounded, but he managed to escape, steal a plane and fly to Algiers. From there he sailed to England, where he won 4 more victories in the ranks of the RAF.
